Catastrophic looting of cultural heritage occurs during, and in the years following, armed
conflict, when fledgling governments are unable to provide the resources to protect archaeological
and historical sites.
We are dedicated to protecting cultural history in the most difficult parts of the world, working with cultural partners on the ground, and local and interim governments. Cultural history is a fundamental human right, and needs to be protected when it is most at risk.
