In Lebanon, the economy collapsed, and bread, the one thing every table needs, slipped out of reach for too many families.
In one neighborhood, a young man named Houssam decided to do something about it. He does not have much. No warehouse, no trucks, no team, none of the things a large organization takes for granted. What he has is a list of families who need bread and the will to reach them.
So every week, on UMMA's behalf, Houssam hands fresh bread to the people around him. With very little, he does a lot.
Houssam knows which doors to knock on. He knows the mother skipping meals so her children can eat, and the elderly neighbor who cannot make it to a bakery. He reaches them himself, loaf by loaf. This is the future UMMA believes in. Not help handed down from far away, but local people lifting their own.
Right now, Houssam does this with almost nothing. Imagine what he could do with more. More bread to hand out. A better way to reach families. The simple tools to document his work and grow it.
