Why Are Gaza’s Children in Crisis?
In 2025, children in Gaza are living through one of the most severe humanitarian disasters in modern history. Repeated displacement, the destruction of homes and schools, lack of food, water, and medical access have left nearly half of Gaza’s population — children — vulnerable to malnutrition, trauma, and death.
According to UN OCHA, over 1 million children in Gaza require immediate humanitarian assistance. Many are no longer attending school. Thousands suffer from untreated injuries, trauma, and starvation. Entire neighborhoods have turned into rubble — and hope is the rarest commodity of all.
Are Children in Gaza Starving?
Yes. Children in Gaza are starving — both literally and developmentally. With food blockades, destroyed farms, and no secure humanitarian corridors, even basic bread has become a luxury.
Through Umma Foundation’s on-ground teams, we've seen firsthand how a $25 donation can feed a child for an entire month. That’s why urgent, consistent aid is critical right now.

How Your Donation Makes an Impact
Your monthly or one-time donation directly fuels urgent aid programs inside Gaza. For example, a $25 gift can feed a child for an entire month with fresh bread. With $50, you help supply a basic medical kit to a family in need — including essentials like gauze, antibiotics, and pain relief. A $100 contribution delivers clean water and hygiene packs to communities facing shortages. And for $250, your support powers mobile health clinics, school supply distributions, and mental health outreach for displaced children.
These aren’t abstract estimates — they reflect real-time reports from Umma Foundation teams on the ground in Gaza. Every dollar counts, and every donation builds hope.
📖 Stories from the Ground
In Rafah, we met Leila, age 6, whose school was destroyed in early 2024. She now lives in a shelter with eight other children, surviving on bread and canned food. Through your donations, Leila received daily meals and coloring books to help ease her trauma and restore a sense of normalcy.
In northern Gaza, Youssef, age 9, was pulled from rubble after an airstrike hit his neighborhood. His arm was injured, and he hadn’t eaten in two days. Our team treated his wounds with a medical kit funded by donors like you, and gave him clean water and a blanket. Today, he is recovering with extended family — and draws pictures of birds flying free.
In Khan Younis, Fatima, a 14-year-old student, volunteers with her younger siblings to help distribute bread in their block. Their father was injured and can no longer work. Thanks to Umma’s Bread Campaign, the family not only receives food daily but also feels dignity in helping others. Fatima hopes to become a teacher one day and rebuild her community’s future.
Across Gaza City, our team distributes warm food and blankets while children draw pictures of the homes they lost — and the homes they still dream of. These stories are only possible because of compassionate supporters like you. Every meal, bandage, and moment of hope begins with a gift.
